California “leaders” recently passed Bill SB 793 which will ban all retail sales of “Flavored Tobacco / Vape Products”
This will make 95% of the products that we sell in our store illegal effective 1/1/2021. This is assuming that local leaders in Counties or cities do not take action to stop sales prior to that date.
We also are waiting for the FDA to give guidance on September 9th on which products have submitted the required PMTA application that will be required to remain on the market.
While we do not expect the FDA / Federal Gov. to limit retail sales of these products on September 10th. We do expect many products available today will become very difficult to continue to stock or purchase due to impacts on manufacturers and distributors after September 9th 2020.
While in today’s environment there are many opinions on things that may happens between now and those dates we are confident that major changes to availability is inevitable sooner rather than later. While we believe Vape will survive as an industry we feel that options will be very limited for some time. Hardware is also impacted by the September 9th date as all vape hardware is considered a tobacco product.
