LA COUNTY (UNINCORPORATED AREAS) FLAVOR BAN VIDEO! 9-24-19
Hypocrisy of California Politics –
Sad day to be a part of.
Thank you to everyone who showed up to Voice their passion, on both sides. Hard to get any point across in 60 seconds. Unlike the politician and some on the other side we actually researched those figures and have many of the links and charts to support the information. I have included all I had to say but did not have time. To watch the ignorance and the manipulation. To see people that are trusted to make important decisions show so little interest in really knowing some amount of truth before impacting so many lives. It has taken a shaky confidence in this states leadership and really made us question another business in this state. We wish nothing but the best for our fellow industry owners and all of their customers.
IMPACT
Our understanding is that only unincorporated areas are impacted. Each incorporated area will have to adopt the action or may choose to carve out exceptions. So if your in an incorporated area you have at least 6 months from now + at least until a hearing and vote is made. Unincorporated areas are 6 months from today.
Don’t quote me on that i am not, Thank F-ing God, a Politician. I feel dirty even saying that word.
We will post more info as we have it and we feel blessed to be part of this Life Changing DISRUPTIVE Industry. Proof being a disruptor can be a good thing for humanity. Smoking will never be the same thanks to the countless number of professionals in this industry and those that support it.
What I wanted to Say:
My name is Mark Avetissian. A vapor and a small business owner.
What’s insane to me about this meeting is if I had a heroin needle sticking out of my arm and I was passed out Outside here you would be fighting to support a vote for a safe injection site for me.
Yet your instead trying to ban me and my customers and friends from using flavored vape to quit the deadly habit of traditional tobacco.
Recent studies show in California 11.6% of high school students have used flavored ecigs. For perspective … based on 439k students that is 51k students. Meanwhile 8% of 8th graders 18.6% of 10th graders and 30.2 % of 12 graders drink alcohol. Among teens who smoke weed There has been an increase of 62% of vape use of marijuana.
Where is the language regarding marijuana in this meeting?
Also fun facts 29% are highly stressed 30% bored due to lack of interaction with teachers and 75% are bored by the material, 25% feel “no adults in school care about me” 35.6% of the 439k California students don’t go straight to college. Or how about the fact that 20+% of California students can’t read so I questions if they even know what some of shirts and banners and speeches even mean. Stop using our tax dollars and children as pawn and puppets and actually teach them something other than how a corrupted and uninformed government works. I am merely sharing facts that make me wonder why my industry and my businesses has been labeled evil child marketing experts. Stop lying to your constituents and to the children. Now about the new darling weed industry. Currently in about 2000 dispensaries in so cal in which only a few hundred are licensed you will find Peach rings candy thc. Gummy bear thc, flower thc with names like hubba bubba, candy jack, Ewok candy. Yet your silent.
It has been obvious and reported to anyone who reads beyond the headline and political rhetoric over and over that the recent illnesses and deaths were from THC Vapes. Between the historic strength and black market more people will die.
Your again, with you yes vote trying to tell everyone to Smoke or burn plant material. How did that work when you got bought by big time tobacco? 480k a year and almost 10 million in total have been murder by you and big tobacco since the Master Settlement agreement. Where is the good reverends outrage and preaching about you California politicians getting paid 16 billion by big tobacco for that. I guess the UK didn’t get their check because they are putting vape shops in Pharmacies to stop the real problem. Traditional tobacco.
I urge you to be honest with yourselves and with your constituents. Ban under 21 shop sales, ban online sales, punish shops who sell and students that are caught with these products and vote no on prohibition that you know doesn’t work and won’t be effective.
